First Day

Welcome to our trip blog. We will try to update this blog at the end of each day. We also look forward to reading your comments.

We arrived safely last night and slept soundly after our 24 hours of travel. We had our first day of training with the IJM staff today. Tomorrow, we will visit clients and assist in "gardening" - which we found out today is the local term for farming the clients' land. We are looking forward to our opportunity to get into the field - literally and figuratively.

God bless, and thank you for your prayers.

It's a blessing to hear that the plentiful harvest is drawing this group of workers to meet the task's opportunities and challenges. My thoughts and heartfelt prayers go out to you all!

Hey Team! Glad you arrived safe & sound! How 'bout that ride in from the airport? It certainly makes an impression. The scene in Kampala wasn't what I first expected when I thought of Africa either. Can you believe the traffic & how everyone "dresses so smart"? Ladies in suits & high heels slogging through the "streets"! Megan Garner says that's a true African Woman! I agree!

Enjoy your morning devotions as you bask in the heat, the beautiful grounds, the staff, the spirituality & the fact that you're actually there - in Africa!

I know you'll be a huge blessing to IJM, but the reverse will be even greater. How is the office functioning after the robbery? Keep us posted as much as possible. Blessings! Leslie Boie

Hello!
This technology is amazing. I can't believe that I'm actually looking at a picture of you in Africa online!!! So glad that you are safe and sound. Talked to Eric J. today - he said you are all well, worked in a woman's field today and looking forward to the program launch tomorrow. Keep the updates coming.
You are in my thoughts and prayers each day.

Hi Team

If you go golfing in Entebee, make sure you stay away from the caddy with the bad limp. Time will explain why.

In all seriousness, my prayers are with you. Do great work for least, lost, and left behind.

Molly - admit it - you're in Uganda to avoid your Studies in Grace homework, aren't you? :D In all seriousness, I've kept you and your travel companions in my prayers this week. I'm so glad you've arrived safely - I look forward to hearing about the work you will do. God bless each of you, and those whose lives you will touch. Kris Miner

Molly - So glad to hear that you and your group are safe. I pray for you every day. Ethan and Emily are being so good - excellent listeners and helpers. We are having a good time together. Everything here is running smoothly, so not to worry. I don't want to go home, although I know the kids miss you very much. God bless you all as you do His work.
Love, Mom
